Feathers for Dinner?

A recent posting from a popular Chicago vet’s blog talks about a new pet food product from Royal Canin containing feather meal. Read more as Dr Becker gives a quick nutritional analysis of this dog food,  the first two ingredients of which would probably give most people cause for alarm: corn starch and hydrolysed poultry by -products aggregate (feather meal).

I have one dog who is highly allergic to many foods, as well as grass; she lives on a diet of turkey and fish and avoids red meat, chicken, and grains. Fortunately she’d probably be allergic to the feather meal too!
